Martha Friedman, Mika Taga, Alina Tenser
We are pleased to present three solo shows, by three artists, with three curators, in three spaces at SEPTEMBER. Alyson Baker, Kristen Dodge, and Olga Dekalo have each respectively selected Martha Friedman, Mika Taga, and Alina Tenser. Each sculptor will have her own room and present works that synchronize with the architecture in their dedicated context.
While each solo show is distinct, there are conceptual and material congruencies. Friedman, Taga, and Tenser work with the body as tool and subject, use the language of performance in their process, think spatially through material and scale, have a palette that is inherent to their material, and play with the idea (and sometimes action) of changeability.
