46 Gordon @ The Secrets of the Flowers of Refinement, or the Vulgarity of Loneliness
At Untitled Art, September Gallery will present a site-specific installation by Nicole Cherubini as part of the fair’s Special Projects program. Featuring a selection of the artist’s signature clay benches arranged as a modular seating area, the installation invites guests to sit, converse, and relax—offering an unexpected moment of comfort and social ease through art and function.
In collaboration with choreographer Julia K. Gleich, Nicole Cherubini will present three roving performances as part of her presentation at Untitled Art. Three enigmatic dancers in artist-designed, maximalist costumes will move with tactile sensitivity on and around the installation, activating the sculptures through improvised gestures cued by a live cellist. The performance is part of an ongoing collaboration between Cherubini and Gleich that looks at democratizing spaces through contemporary ballet.
